This work summarizes the progress made for enhancing an open method and tools that support assessing, planning, monitoring and rating sustainability of the built environment. The current transnational effort involves Greece, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Spain, and Tunisia, that capitalized a sustainability assessment system for buildings and neighbourhoods and upscale it to a city level. Three new pilots are underway to demonstrate its applicability.
